Photograph from the Jam showcase. A lot of people standing around, playing games, chatting etc. in the SDI exhibition space. Photograph of someone playing the game Run Grizzly Bear, made for the jam. The game is an endless runner that you play by running on special copper pads on the floor, jumping between lanes as the game requires. The player is captured mid jump. Photograph of someone playing the game The Body Keeps the Score, made for the jam. The game is about different kinds of touch and uses a mannequin with copper pads placed at various places on the body. In the photo, a player is touch the mannquin on its hip and looking at the attached laptop's screen. Photograph of someone playing the game Red Light Green Light, made for the jam. The game is a multiplayer game, with players alternately pressing buttons and hiding/revealing a light sensor to avoid detection. In the photo three players are watching the screen intently, themselves watched by a crowd of spectators. Photograph of someone playing the game Nerf Dog Squeaker, made for the jam. The game's controller involves a nerf dog toy inside a cardboard tube with buttons at either end, which rotate a level on screen. The goal is to get the on-screen ball to the goal by rotating the level around it.

This was a game jam I ran for Abertay students, where I demonstrated how to build simple custom controllers, and then the teams all went off and made their own alt ctrl games.

A week after the jam we held a showcase of all the games in Abertay's games exhibition space.
